The Silver Knights Basketball Club is excited to offer two consecutive weeks of Rep and Elite Summer Camps delivered by our highly esteemed Elite Leadership Partners: Coach Tom Oliveri and Coach Anthony Atletico in Richmond Hill at St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS (July 29-Aug 2 and Aug 6-9, 2019).

Due to popular demand, Silver Knights added a one week High Profile Elite Boys Only Camp delivered by our Director of Silver Knights Camps: Coach Raoul Baumgartner in Markham at St. Brother André CHS (July 22-26, 2019).

We encourage our Silver Knights Rep travel players (Major Atom to Juvenile) and Elite League players (grades 7 to 12), including other Ontario basketball players, to attend in order to hone their skills during the summer and prepare for the 2019-2020 rep basketball season.

Coach Oliveri and Coach Atletico have a detailed agenda/itinerary prepared daily from 9:00am to 3:30pm SHARP.

  • All players need to bring their own basketball, basketball shoes and proper athletic attire,
  • All players should also pack a water bottle, small towel, extra socks and an extra t-shirt.
  • Lunch is from 12pm-1pm daily. All players must bring a NUT-FREE lunch and snacks.
  • Participants must commit to the full camp week (no pro-rated days offered).
  • Up to 10 individual trophies and “camper of the day” awards will be handed out.

Coach Tom Oliveri

Tom Oliveri was the head coach of the York University Men’s Basketball Team for the 2002-2003 season and from 2010 – 2017.  Coach Oliveri was head coach (Ontario Central Region) for Canada Basketball’s Centre for Performance (CP) from 2009-2015. He was also the head coach of basketball development for the York South Silver Knights Basketball Club.

Coach Oliveri began his formal introduction to coach education at York University where he attained a master’s degree in both kinesiology and coaching. He is now a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level 4 basketball coach, Master Learning Facilitator, Master Evaluator, and Chartered Professional Coach for basketball. He was instrumental in being on Canada Basketball’s writing team for the development of the current N.C.C.P. program.

Coach Oliveri has a wealth of Camp experience having worked and run a number of elite basketball camps. Some of these include, Toronto Raptors Inaugural camp, Butch Carter Basketball Camp, York University Basketball Camp and the Nike All Canada Basketball Camp.

Before coming to work with the York University Lions, he coached and taught for eight years at Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School, where his teams won seven TDCAA championships, an OFSAA bronze medal and two end-of-season top 10 national rankings. Coach Oliveri also coached Rep Basketball for the YSSK for 11 seasons. In this time his teams won four gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals. His last season coaching the U19 YSSK team, his team won a prestigious tournament in Pittsburgh, PA.

As a head coach of the U17 Ontario men’s provincial team, Coach Oliveri led Ontario to back-to-back gold medals at the Canadian Juvenile National Championship in 2002 and 2003. A certified master course conductor / master learning facilitator and Level 4/5 certified, he holds the formal designation of a Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC).

Coach Oliveri is currently a Certified Teacher with the T.C.D.S.B.

Coach Anthony Atletico

Anthony Atletico was an assistant coach with the York University Men’s Basketball Team from 2014-2017, returning to the university where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also holds a master’s degree in education and is currently a high school teacher.

Coach Atletico is a Level 3 certified basketball coach. He has also coached with Canada Basketball’s Junior Academy and with Ontario Basketball’s Centre for Performance. Coach Atletico has worked at the club level as an assistant with the North Toronto Huskies JUEL team, winning a championship in 2012 and a bronze medal in 2011. He has also run the YSSK Elite Camps and the York University Elite High School Camp.

Coach Atletico has 10 years of coaching experience at the high school level. He has served as the head coach at Bill Crothers, St. Elizabeth, St. Augustine, St. Theresa of Lisieux, and currently St. Brother Andre coaching the senior girls and junior boys. In that time Anthony has won multiple York Region championships.

Coach Raoul Baumgartner

  • President and one of 3 founding Partners of York South Silver Knights Basketball Club (YSSK).
  • Retired Educator, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree, Bachelor of Education Degree, and Masters Degree in Language and Learning Disabilities.
  • Coached basketball at both the elementary school level and at the Rep Competitive Team level for 35+ years, winning 5 Board Championships and 10+ Area Championships for the YCDSB, plus placed 2nd in the Intermediate (grade 7/8) GTA Championships.
  • Successfully coached players who later obtained NCAA Division #1 Scholarships in the USA, and players who later played on the Canadian Jr. National Team and the Sr. National Team.
  • Level 3 NCCP Certified Technical Basketball Instructor with Ethics qualifications.
  • Mentored/facilitated YSSK camp counselors who later took on such roles as High Profile Elite Basketball Coaches or York Region Officials.
  • Father of two children, Ross and Bianca.  Ross is currently at U of Ottawa pursuing Computer Engineering.  He played 7 years of Rep Basketball with YSSK, and was a House League Coach. Bianca is currently attending the Athletic High School, Bill Crothers.  She is a shooting guard for her Silver Knights Rep Competitive Team.
  • Personal Philosophy: Always attempting to make a difference in every basketball player, and teach them all life-long lessons that go well beyond the game itself.
  • “It’s not the cards that you are given in life, but how you play them that matters.”

Refund/Cancellation Policy: Summer Camps

  • Refunds/Cancellations will only be accepted if notified in writing to the Registrar by e-mail (ysskprograms@silverknightsbasketball.com) on or before Saturday June 15, 2019.
  • NO REFUNDS will be given after Saturday June 15, 2019.
  • No verbal communication of cancellation will be accepted.
  • All refund requests are subject to a $100 administration cost.
  • If cancellation request is due to medical issue or injury sustained during the Summer Camp, a medical note must be provided and assessment will be made by YSSK and its directors (future credit amount for sessions lost due to injury).
  • All medical notes and injuries must be communicated in writing to the Registrar by e-mail (ysskprograms@silverknightsbasketball.com) within 1-3 days of occurrence.
  • Dishonoured payments will incur a $40 service charge.
