2024 Spring Co-Ed Specialized Small-Group training offered by Silver Knights Basketball Club: Eight 90-minute training sessions
INSTRUCTOR: Areez Somani (Training in Markham on Sundays)
Areez Somani is an experienced basketball coach with Silver Knights Basketball Club, coaching for several years at our house league programs and a coach for our weekly Winter, March Break & Summer Camps. Areez will be offering co-ed small-group training opportunities for boys and girls (Grade 5 to Grade 7). The program is designed to not only improve a player’s individual offensive skills, but to help players become better teammates and play with more confidence. Each player will be evaluated and progress will be monitored. Valuable and comprehensive feedback will be provided throughout the session.
Moreover, this program will be devoted to the individual hoopster’s level of skills and play.
Areez will provide training for Grade 5 to Grade 7 (girls and boys) with a group of no more than 6 players. This session is designed to instill the necessary fundamental skills and concepts essential for success.

**No younger or older players will be allowed to attend.
** IMPORTANT NOTES:
- To participate, players MUST currently be registered for one of the following YSSK programs (NO EXCEPTIONS, since our “Specialized Small-Group Training” is meant for players to take the new skills taught each session to be applied to a weekly rep game or house league game):
- The player is on a current 2023-2024 Silver Knights Rep Competitive Team (practicing 2 times per week plus games/tournaments on weekends),
- OR the player is currently participating in the 2024 Winter/Spring Silver Knights house league (running from February to June 2024 on Saturdays/Sundays in Markham or Richmond Hill).
- Players must attend and pay for all eight 90-minute sessions. No pro-rated fees apply.

Experience:
- I desire through my joy for the game and helping young athletes develop confidence through progressive skill development to become a full time development coach.
- At 30 years of age, I have honed both my coaching ability and my instructional methodology of error detection and error correction through coaching at Silver Knights Basketball at the elementary and high school level.
- I have offered or am currently offering my elite developmental training services at Skillz Academy, Red Dot, Competitive Sports Academy, IEM Basketball, Red Dot, and of course YSSK Basketball.
- In my youth, I attended a significant number of Silver Knights Elite Summer Camps. It is there in 2006, where my passion for Basketball initiated. I recall obtaining The Shooter award one camp, and MVP the next.
- I have a bachelor degree in accounting from University of Western, but my true deep passion remains in basketball.
