York South Silver Knights Basketball – Richmond Hill Markham York Region Unionville Club prides itself in offering a superior level of skill development at all program levels. All our programs, including our house leagues, are directed and coached by certified OBA instructors.

No parental volunteers are involved in coaching our house league teams, as we hire select passionate Sr. High school rep players and university students to coach our teams.

This developmental grassroots instructional program is intended to bring the “joy of basketball” to our youngest girl basketeers from junior kindergarten to grade 3. OBA certified coaches direct our school in order that fundamentals are taught in a sequential progression to each individual child while maintaining a fun and exciting atmosphere.

A high instructor to participant ratio is present in order to maintain excellence.

All of our Junior (grade 4 to 6) and Intermediate (grade 7 to 9) Girls Leagues are comprised of 45 to 60 minutes of direct basketball instruction, followed by a house league game. It is in this manner that participants who have never played the game in a semi-competitive atmosphere are exposed to the correct manner and foundation skills in which to play this wonderful game called basketball. Each season culminates with a championship tournament, where trophies and awards are given.

** All Junior Girls and Intermediate Girls Got Court House League Games in Markham and Richmond Hill are Refereed by OBA York Region Officials **

Register your child on or before August 31, 2025 and receive $30 off the prices noted in the charts below.  This discount is automatically applied when completing the online registration form.  So Don’t Delay, Register Today!

(B)  Find a NEW Friend to Join ($50 Future Credit)
Get a new friend who has never played in a Silver Knights program before (house league or camp) to register and pay full price for any of our Fall/Winter House Leagues.  Your child will receive a $50.00 future credit which may be used for future house leagues or camps.  Please make sure to include the first and last name of this new to Silver Knights friend when completing your child’s registration form (or call our Registrar, Diane with the details at 647-699-9932).  Once your child’s friend joins the house league, our Registrar will email the details of your child’s future credit.  Thank you for promoting our house leagues!

Tiny & Mini Knights Basketball School Objectives:

  • Introduce primary aged pupils to key basketball skills while having fun
  • Promote sense of accomplishment
  • Support motivated players to pursue higher levels of competition
  • Build a new organization from the true grass roots level

Each action packed positive learning session lasts one hour in length, and includes:

  • Warm-up
  • Direct instruction
  • Whole group and small group activities
  • Perhaps a short modified basketball game at the end

It is through such fun activities that introductory foundation skills are established and reinforced, and our children start to see the benefits of:

  • Team work
  • Self-discipline
  • The happiness that comes from success

$25 FORMER MEMBER UNIFORM DISCOUNT – ONLY FOR PLAYERS WHO WILL REUSE BOTH THEIR BASKETBALL AND UNIFORM FROM A PREVIOUS HOUSE LEAGUE SESSION, NOT A CAMP (REMEMBER, OUR “HOOPSTERS” GROW AND UNIFORMS MAY NO LONGER FIT!)

NOTE:
THE UNIFORM FOR JUNIOR GIRLS (GRADE 4 TO 6) IS  NOT THE SAME AS THE TINY/MINI KNIGHTS GIRLS UNIFORM.

REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Refunds/Cancellations will only be accepted if notified in writing to the Registrar by e-mail (ysskprograms@silverknightsbasketball.com), on or before the Sunday immediately preceding the program’s start date.
  • NO REFUNDS will be given starting the Monday immediately before the program’s start date.  No Exceptions.
  • No verbal communication of cancellation will be accepted.
  • All refund requests are subject to a $50 administration cost.
  • Dishonoured payments will incur a $40 service charge.
